I’ve honestly lost count of how many times I’ve read this book since it first came out—and every reread still feels like coming home. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (4/5 stars)is one of my all-time favorite introductory novels, not just because it starts an iconic series, but because of how effortlessly it pulls you into Harry’s world.
This book does a beautiful job of introducing Harry’s lonely, difficult life and then completely transforming it with the discovery of Hogwarts. Watching him find friendship, belonging, and purpose through Ron and Hermione never gets old. The magic isn’t just in spells and potions—it’s in the warmth of chosen family and the wonder of realizing you matter.
While the writing is simpler compared to later books in the series, that simplicity is part of its charm. There’s a sense of innocence and discovery here that perfectly sets the tone for everything that follows. Every reread reminds me why this series captured the hearts of so many readers in the first place.
I gave this book 4 stars because it’s a classic introduction—comforting, imaginative, and full of heart. It may not yet have the emotional weight of the later installments, but it lays the foundation for one of the most beloved stories of all time.
No matter how many years pass, opening this book still feels like stepping onto Platform 9¾ all over again. ✨📚
